BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) — Ahead of the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Monday extended holiday greetings and good wishes to Chinese scientific researchers conducting missions in the Arctic and Antarctic via satellite video link.
He Lifeng, also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), heard speeches from representatives of the Xuelong research icebreaker expedition, the Qinling Antarctic station, and the Huanghe Arctic station.
He Lifeng then noted that Chinese polar researchers worked with full dedication and successfully completed a wide range of scientific missions during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), bringing China's comprehensive polar capabilities to a new level.
He called for strengthening comprehensive support for polar research, deepening human understanding of the polar regions and their protection through enhanced scientific research, expanding international exchanges and cooperation, and showing greater concern for polar researchers. -0-
