St. Petersburg, February 9 /Xinhua/ — The Russian Northern Fleet frigate Admiral Kasatonov conducted artillery firing at a combat training range in the Barents Sea, the fleet's press service reported on Monday.

The ship's crew fired the A-192M artillery mount at shore targets located 12 km away. They also conducted counter-naval robotic systems training, firing the Palash anti-aircraft artillery system at a surface target. The sailors repelled a simulated enemy air raid and destroyed a small aerial target heading toward the ship.

Admiral Kasatonov is a Project 22350 multipurpose frigate equipped with guided missiles to engage targets in near- and long-range maritime and oceanic zones. It is capable of striking land and coastal targets at ranges of over 1,000 kilometers.
