Tbilisi, February 9 /Xinhua/ — In January 2026, passenger traffic at Georgian airports increased by 16 percent compared to the same period last year, the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported on Monday.

During the reporting period, 2,873 flights were operated at Georgian airports, 16.17 percent more than in January 2025. The total number of passengers served amounted to 613,933.

The volume of cargo transported by air reached 3,147.16 tons, an increase of 38.75 percent year-on-year. Overall, 24,387 departures, arrivals, and transit flights were recorded at Georgian airports in the first month of 2026. –0–
