Pyongyang, February 9 (Xinhua) — Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of state of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited the country's Defense Ministry on Sunday to mark the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA), the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Monday.
According to KCNA, in his speech, Kim Jong-un congratulated all officers and soldiers of the army, as well as overseas special operations units.
He noted that the next five years, marked by the 9th Congress of the WPK, will be years in which the special role of the KPA will be further enhanced. –0–
