Gaza, February 8 (Xinhua) — Two Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Palestinian medical sources reported.

Sources at Gaza City's Al-Shifa Hospital told Xinhua that one Palestinian was killed and another was seriously wounded in Israeli artillery shelling of the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old Palestinian was killed by fire from an Israeli armored vehicle east of the central Gaza Strip town of Deir el-Balah, an Al-Aqsa Hospital spokesman said.

Meanwhile, according to Palestinian security sources, the Israeli army continues to destroy homes in the eastern Khan Yunis and Rafah areas in the southern enclave, as well as in the eastern part of Gaza City.

The death toll among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, has reached 72,027, with another 171,651 injured, the Palestinian enclave's health authority said on Saturday.
