SHENYANG, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) — A collection of 189 historical artifacts documenting Japanese aggression against China was recently donated to the Shenyang September 18th History Museum in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, by a local collector.
The donated historical materials and artifacts include various categories, such as identification cards, manuscripts, letters, and photo albums. They document numerous crimes committed by Japanese soldiers during the War of Aggression.
Among them is a photo album containing 154 original photographs taken by Japanese military personnel about Japan's aggression against China. They depict various aspects of Japan's military activities, including reconnaissance missions and troop movements.
According to the museum, during Japan's military invasion of various parts of China, large numbers of Japanese war correspondents were sent to the front lines and occupied territories to document the war. They published a series of photo albums, collections, and illustrated publications that served as propaganda for Japan's acts of aggression against China.
"Only by placing them in a museum and presenting them to the public can more people see the truth of history," said collector Li Yanbo.
Deputy Director of the Museum Zhang Yunfeng stated that this donation provides new and compelling evidence for research into the history of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the September 18 Incident. It also plays a significant role in enriching the museum's collection and filling gaps in related artifact categories.
