BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) — Vice Premier He Lifeng of the State Council and member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Friday sent a congratulatory message to participants of the Icebreakers event organized by the Group of 48 Club in the UK to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
He Lifeng noted that recently, Chinese President Xi Jinping and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reached an important consensus on developing a long-term and sustainable comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the UK, opening up new horizons for bilateral relations and cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that representatives of all walks of life in both countries will continue to promote the “icebreaking spirit” and strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, green transition, financial services, and scientific and technological innovation.
He Lifeng also called on both sides to turn the enormous potential of China-UK cooperation into tangible achievements so as to make greater contributions to the sustainable and long-term development of bilateral relations.
