Rosneft became the only state-owned oil and gas company whose shares were included in all sustainable development indices by the Moscow Exchange.
Following the annual review, the exchange included the Company's shares in new index calculation bases for sustainable development, including: the non-financial companies climate resilience index, the Moscow Exchange-RAEX "ESG balanced" index, and the Moscow Exchange-RSPP index group.
Companies that adhere to best practices in environmental and social responsibility and corporate governance and that disclose relevant information in their corporate reporting become participants in Moscow Exchange's sustainable development indices.
The Non-Financial Companies Climate Resilience Index includes securities of ESG leaders with well-established climate management systems and climate risk management.
The MOEX-RAEX "ESG Balanced" Index is compiled annually and consists of 20 companies with the highest sustainability scores from the RAEX rating agency. The index is calculated based on the RAEX ESG ranking, which includes 145 companies from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia, 20 of which represent the oil and gas industry.
Since 2007, Rosneft has been publishing sustainability reports in accordance with Russian and international guidelines. These reports are independently assessed by an external auditor.
The reports present the Company's achievements in sustainable development, reflect Rosneft's contribution to the development of national projects of the Russian Federation, disclose key economic and environmental indicators, information on scientific and social projects, cultural and sporting events.
Environmental responsibility is a key priority for Rosneft. The company is consistently increasing its green investment: by the end of 2024, it reached 74 billion rubles, and from 2022 to 2024, it will reach almost 200 billion rubles. The funds are being used for pipeline reliability improvement programs, construction of associated petroleum gas utilization infrastructure, emission reduction, and other projects.
