BEIJING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Friday released an action plan outlining specific measures to further advance agricultural modernization and promote all-round rural revitalization.
The plan outlines measures aimed, in particular, at ensuring stable production of grain and vegetable oil, increasing the level of modernization of livestock farming, stimulating the high-quality growth of the fisheries industry, ensuring stable production of cotton, sugar, rubber, fruits and vegetables, and accelerating the formation of a diversified food supply system.
Efforts will also be aimed at protecting arable land and improving its quality, building capacity to prevent and mitigate the effects of natural disasters, comprehensively improving the quality and safety of agricultural products, and enhancing the level of international cooperation in the field of agriculture, the plan says.
To consolidate and expand the achievements in the fight against poverty, efforts must be made in such areas as improving the policy of regular support, increasing the accuracy and effectiveness of monitoring aid work, enhancing the effectiveness of poverty alleviation through industry and employment, and adopting multi-level differentiated support measures for underdeveloped areas.
The plan also includes measures to strengthen support through agricultural science, technology and equipment, promote comprehensive green transformation of agricultural development, develop and expand rural industries to increase income, accelerate the improvement of modern living conditions in rural areas, and deepen rural reform. -0-
