BEIJING, February 6 (Xinhua) — A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck south of Java Island, Indonesia, at 18:06 GMT Thursday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.

According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the tremors was recorded at a point with coordinates of 9.09 degrees south latitude and 111.17 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 km.
