BEIJING, February 5 (Xinhua) — With the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) approaching, China is experiencing a consumption boom. On February 2, the first batch of imported live king crabs in 2026, weighing a total of 4.5 tons, arrived at the Suifenhe port in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, officially opening the annual peak seafood import season, according to a statement posted on the Suifenhe city government's website.

To ensure the rapid and safe entry of this high-value fresh seafood consignment into China, all units at Suifenhe Port have strengthened cooperation, launching a rapid inspection mechanism for fresh products and streamlining supervision and inspection procedures. A "screening and release in a designated area, pre-arrival preparation" work model was implemented, significantly reducing the customs clearance time for this consignment of seafood.
