BEIJING, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced Wednesday that tourist trips to Kinmen and Matsu islands for Shanghai residents will resume soon.
The resumption of tourism aims to further normalize people-to-people exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, transform exchanges in various fields into routine practices, meet the high expectations of Taiwanese residents and the local tourism industry, and improve the well-being of people on both sides of the Strait, the ministry stated.
The ministry added that preparatory work is progressing smoothly and expressed hope that tourism businesses on both sides of the strait will strengthen communication and coordination to provide high-quality services and goods for mainland Chinese residents traveling to Kinmen and Matsu. -0-
