BEIJING, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his willingness to work with U.S. President Donald Trump to steer the giant ship of China-U.S. relations through storms and waves, ensuring its smooth sailing in the new year and accomplishing more great and good deeds.
During a phone call with Donald Trump, Xi Jinping noted that he places particular emphasis on Sino-American relations. He recalled that last year, the two leaders maintained healthy communication and held a successful meeting in Busan, South Korea, setting the direction and course for Sino-American relations, which received a positive response in both countries and the international community.
Both the United States and China have their own concerns, he said.
China never allows words to differ from deeds and always fulfills its promises, Xi Jinping continued, noting that if the parties adhere to equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit, and move towards each other, they will be able to find ways to resolve mutual concerns.
