Beijing, February 4 (Xinhua) — In the first 11 months of 2025, China charged more than 11,000 repatriates from northern Myanmar with telecommunications fraud, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).

During the reporting period, prosecutors across China ordered the arrest of more than 4,300 returnees from northern Myanmar suspected of involvement in such cases, dealing a major blow to cross-border telecom fraud, the NPC said.

Between January and November 2025, a total of 62,000 people, including those repatriated from northern Myanmar, were prosecuted in the country for crimes related to telecommunications and internet fraud, the National Security Council added. -0-
