Caracas, February 3 (Xinhua) — Venezuela's National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) on Tuesday expressed support for interim President Delcy Rodriguez's efforts to promote national reconciliation and unity, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said.

The statement, published on Telegram, came exactly one month after the United States forcibly captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores in a military raid.

The Minister stated that, despite the “open wounds,” FANB supports D. Rodriguez’s efforts to strengthen the democratic system and take the necessary actions to facilitate the return of N. Maduro and S. Flores.

"A month ago, Venezuela was attacked by the world's largest nuclear power in an unprecedented and disproportionate military operation," he said, praising Venezuelan troops who responded with the means and forces they had.

He stressed that the military remains loyal to the Constitution and the acting president. –0–
