Tehran, February 3 (Xinhua) — A major fire broke out at a market in the Iranian capital on Tuesday morning, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported.

The fire, which broke out in the Jannat Abad district of western Tehran, was reported at 9:55 a.m. local time. Firefighters from five fire stations were dispatched to the scene, the agency reported, citing Tehran Fire Department spokesman Jalal Maleki.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but according to J. Maleki, the fire started in a barn with an area of approximately 2,000 square meters.

Shervin Tabrizi, a spokesman for the Tehran Emergency Medical Services organization, said four ambulances and one bus were deployed to transport the injured to the hospital.
