February 2 marked the 83rd anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. On this day, Muscovites honored the memory of those who accomplished this heroic feat, which became a symbol of the courage, fortitude, and unwavering will of the Russian people. The regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society (RMHS) participated in the commemoration.

To commemorate the anniversary, wreaths and flowers were laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the stele honoring cities of military glory, and the "Hero City of Stalingrad" memorial sign in the Alexander Garden. Participants in the Battle of Stalingrad, leaders of leading veterans' organizations, young people, including cadets, as well as military personnel from the capital's garrison, the leadership and members of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, representatives of the Volgograd regional government, and special military operation (SVO) soldiers joined the ceremony.
The Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army also hosted a gala event commemorating the 83rd anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. The event brought together over 900 people: representatives of the executive authorities of Moscow and the Volgograd Region, the leadership and members of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, participants in the Battle of Stalingrad, heads of the capital's leading veterans' organizations, soldiers of the Special Military District, cadets, and other Muscovites.
During the event, Sergei Artemov, a member of the Special Military District, was awarded the Medal "For Bravery," Second Class. His artillery group carried out 12 combat vehicle missions in eight hours, inflicting colossal losses on the enemy. Today, members of the Special Military District demonstrate a high degree of patriotism and selflessness, continuing the traditions of their predecessors.
Participants were also treated to a performance of "The Victory Banner," directed by People's Artist of Russia and member of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO) council, Igor Ugolnikov.
