BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) — The World Federation of Chinese Catering Industries (WFCCI) announced Friday that it will launch a series of events in several countries to promote the Spring Festival (Chinese Lunar New Year) feast, aiming to deepen international cultural exchanges through food.

These events, which include food tastings and culinary demonstrations, will aim to offer immersive experiences that will allow people from around the world to enjoy and gain a deeper understanding of the traditions and innovations of Chinese festive cuisine.

"Chinese cuisine is a vibrant expression of Chinese culture, embodying the meticulous culinary culture and the social values of family reunions and shared meals," said Xing Ying, Chairman of the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industries. He added that promoting Chinese cuisine abroad is a cross-cultural communication process, noting that it's not just about sharing food but also about the cultural values and humanistic spirit that underlie it.

Vice Chairman of the Federation Wu Li announced that the culinary tour will feature traditional banquets from various regions of China. Highlights include a Chaozhou-style New Year's dinner celebrating the warm ritual of "reunion by the fire," a Changzhou banquet featuring local delicacies, and a Shaanxi-style dumpling feast.
