Mexico City, January 29 (Xinhua) — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and her U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, held a telephone conversation on Thursday. Sheinbaum reported on social media that they agreed that their respective teams would continue to address outstanding bilateral issues.
The presidents of the United States and Mexico have spoken by phone several times during Donald Trump's second term. Relations between the two countries are tense due to concerns about security and organized crime.
The conversation took place during a visit to Washington by Mexican Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who is discussing issues related to the upcoming scheduled review of the US-Mexico-Canada Free Trade Agreement (USMCA).
