BEIJING, January 30 (Xinhua) — China welcomes and commends the objective and impartial ruling by a World Trade Organization (WTO) panel on China's WTO dispute against the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Friday.

The panel ruled that U.S. clean energy subsidies were inconsistent with WTO rules, requiring the United States to eliminate the relevant subsidies.

As a Ministry of Commerce official noted in commenting on this decision, China has always been a staunch defender of WTO rules and a strong supporter of the international trade and economic order.

“We hope that the American side will respect the expert group’s decision and comply with WTO rules, take prompt action to correct its erroneous actions, and will practically protect the international trade and economic order and promote the stable and orderly development of international trade,” the official representative concluded.
