BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) — China will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said Friday after Panama's Supreme Court annulled a contract awarded to a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings Limited to operate Panamanian port terminals.
The company in question called the Panamanian court's decision contrary to the law under which Panama approved the concession. However, the company reserves all rights, including legal action, Guo Jiakun recalled at a press conference.
