Astana, January 30 (Xinhua) — During its chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2026, Kazakhstan will focus on implementing artificial intelligence technologies, developing the union's logistics potential, and expanding trade and economic cooperation with third countries. This was reported on Friday by the Kazinform news agency, citing the Kazakh government's press service.
The corresponding statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, opening the first meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council in 2026 in Moscow.
According to him, this year, special attention will be paid to the digitalization of industry and the agro-industrial complex, the removal of barriers to mutual trade, and ensuring seamless transit through the introduction of navigation seals, a single transit declaration, and unified customs mechanisms.
The development of cooperation projects is also identified as a priority. Five such initiatives involving companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Russia have currently been approved, with the goal of expanding joint production and increasing localization.
