Beijing, January 29 (Xinhua) — China hopes the United States will develop an objective and rational perception of China. This was stated on Thursday by Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin, who called on the US to stop hyping up the so-called "Chinese military threat."

Jiang Bin made these statements while responding to media inquiries regarding the US National Defense Strategy 2026, published by the US Department of Defense. This document states that the United States will deter China in the Asia-Pacific region through force, not confrontation, and that it is necessary to establish extensive exchanges with the Chinese military to maintain strategic stability and ensure a dignified peace.

The document also states that the United States will build a deterrence and defense system on the “first island chain” to ensure military balance in the region.

“Facts have proven that any attempt to contain or block China is doomed to failure,” said a Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman.

Noting that adhering to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation is the correct path for cooperation between China and the United States, Jiang Bin noted that China is willing to work with the United States to promote the stable development of bilateral relations while firmly safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests.

Jiang Bin called on the United States to stop inciting bloc confrontation, prevent discrepancies between words and deeds on issues affecting China's core interests, and promote the healthy and stable development of relations between the armed forces of the two countries through real actions.
