Moscow, January 29 (Xinhua) — Russia appreciates the United Arab Emirates' contribution to the prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, as well as to the organization of contacts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this Thursday in the Kremlin during talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"I would like to particularly note the efforts of the Emirati side in the context of the Ukrainian crisis, their contribution to the exchange of detainees, and their assistance in organizing contacts in various forms within the United Arab Emirates," Putin said, adding that Russia highly values this.
The UAE President, for his part, noted that "relations between the UAE and Russia are based on a deep legacy of fruitful cooperation that has spanned over 50 years."
