BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) — China and the United Kingdom should make better use of their complementary advantages to expand bilateral trade and improve its quality, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said during talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday in Beijing, who is on an official visit to China.
China is willing to cooperate with the British side in improving the mechanism of intergovernmental dialogue and cooperation and conducting exchanges at all levels and in various fields on a more regular basis, Li Qiang said.
He called on both sides to expand exchanges and coordination in areas such as financial regulation and financial market connectivity, and deepen cooperation in emerging industries including artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, green energy, digital economy and modern shipping services.
Following the talks, Li Qiang and Keir Starmer witnessed the signing of a number of documents on cooperation in areas such as economics and trade, agriculture and food, media, education and market regulation. -0-
