There are 36 West Lakes in China, but West Lake in Hangzhou is the most famous and picturesque. The West Lake tourist area, covering a total area of 60 square kilometers, is located north of Hangzhou's city center. Along the lake's shores are a number of attractions, including the Lingyin Temple, the Yuefei Temple, the Leifeng and Liuheta Pagodas, and Longjing Village, home to the renowned Longjing green tea.
