"Supporting young researchers is one of the Government's key priorities. To this end, we are implementing a range of measures under the national project 'Youth and Children' and the Decade of Science and Technology. This is the third time that graduate students and adjunct professors have been selected to receive the scholarships established by decree of President Vladimir Putin. Every year, we see great interest in this support program, with applications coming in from all regions of the country. Starting this year, the number of recipients will increase: up to 800 people will be eligible to win the scholarship competition," emphasized Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He added that there has also been a noticeable overall increase in young people's interest in science. Over the past five years, the number of participants in the 5th Congress of Young Scientists has tripled. Last year, the congress attracted over 8,000 participants from 89 Russian regions and 100 foreign countries, demonstrating record international engagement.

Minister of Education and Science Valery Falkov noted that candidates for the Presidential Scholarship for graduate students and adjuncts are nominated by their academic supervisors.

"It is the ideas, energy, and determination of young scientists that form the foundation for achieving technological victories. And support programs like the Russian Presidential Scholarship for postgraduate and adjunct students enable talented young people to focus on research and scientific endeavors," the minister said.

The scholarship amount is 75,000 rubles per month for a period of one to four years. Up to 800 people will be selected as winners.

The research of scholarship applicants must be based on the priorities defined in the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.
