BEIJING, January 27 (Xinhua) — At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will pay an official visit to China from January 28 to 31.
Starmer graduated from the Universities of Leeds and Oxford, receiving a Bachelor of Civil Law degree. He qualified as a barrister in 1987 and worked in private practice. In 2008, he was appointed Chief Public Prosecutor and headed the Crown Prosecution Service until 2013. In 2015, he was elected to the House of Commons (the lower house of parliament).
In 2020, K. Starmer was elected leader of the Labour Party and took office as Prime Minister in July 2024. –0–
