Guests are invited to the Petrovsky Travel Palace for a lecture entitled "The Most Beautiful Moscow Mansions, Their Owners and Architects in Stories and Photographs." Elena Krizhevskaya, a photographer, local historian, and author of books about Moscow, will deliver the lecture. The event will take place in the Petrovsky Travel Palace's most striking space—the Round Hall under the dome, decorated with 200-year-old grisaille paintings.
Visitors will learn about Moscow merchants and their homes. These will include the city's most beautiful mansions, built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Elena Krizhevskaya will display photographs of the interiors and building details, and will also tell the stories of the merchants and the construction of their private estates. You will also see interior photographs that the author has never published on her social media.
The story's characters will include the mansions of Igumnov, Zinaida Morozova, the Balins, the Lepeshkins, Derozhinskaya, Krasilshchikova and others.
The palace will be open to event guests starting at 6:00 PM. Half-hour mini-tours of the palace will begin at 6:00 PM and 6:15 PM from Entrance No. 5.
The event's starting point is the palace's northern entrance, checkpoint #5, Left Palace Alley. The entrance is located 50 meters to the left of the main gate. The landmark is the first two towers, with an arch between them.
Address: Leningradsky Prospekt, Building 40, near the Dynamo (city exit #1) and Petrovsky Park (city exit #3) metro stations. Then it's a 7-10-minute walk.
You must have your original passport (or birth certificate for guests under 14). Admission to the grounds is restricted to those who have signed up for the tour; your ticket cannot be shared. Part of the tour takes place outdoors; organizers recommend dressing appropriately for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes.
