Specialists from Rosneft's Ufa Research Institute have developed a unique software and analytical system for monitoring the integrity and improving the reliability of pipeline transport.

The software package continuously processes information about the properties of the hydrocarbons being pumped, as well as data from pressure sensors received at a frequency of up to 20 times per second, and if deviations are detected, it provides coordinates of the point of loss of pipeline integrity.

The new technology will help effectively monitor the integrity of pipelines transporting both processed commercial oil and liquid hydrocarbons with low gas content. To ensure reliable operation, methods and algorithms have been developed that take into account the specific installation conditions, design, and flow patterns of the pipelines. For partially processed hydrocarbons, this integrity loss detection technology is unique on the domestic market.

The implementation of the software package will significantly reduce environmental risks and the costs of eliminating the consequences of pipeline failures.

The results of pilot tests at the production facilities of Bashneft-Dobycha, Rospan International, and Samaraneftegaz demonstrated the high efficiency of the developed solutions. The project's economic efficiency includes reduced hydrocarbon losses, optimized operating costs, and increased pipeline infrastructure reliability.

Based on the results of the pilot implementation of the innovation, it is planned to scale it up to the Company’s entire pipeline complex.
