BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) — Air Force Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesman for the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) Southern Zone Combat Command (SZCC), accused the Philippines of organizing so-called "joint patrols" with extra-regional countries and destabilizing the situation in the South China Sea.
The official said the South China Sea navy conducted a routine patrol in the South China Sea from January 25 to 26.
The Southwest Coastal Region forces will resolutely defend the country's territorial sovereignty, maritime rights and interests, and firmly maintain regional peace and stability, Tian Junli emphasized.
