BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Malick Ndiaye, President of the National Assembly (unicameral parliament) of Senegal, in Beijing on Tuesday.
Han Zheng noted that Senegal is an important partner for China's cooperation on the African continent. He added that China highly appreciates Senegal's understanding and support for China on issues related to human rights, Taiwan, and Xinjiang.
As the Vice President of the People's Republic of China pointed out, China is ready to work with Senegal to strengthen political mutual trust, deepen cooperation for the benefit of the people, enhance the alignment of development strategies, strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries, closely communicate and coordinate actions in international and regional affairs, and make even greater contributions to the joint construction of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
M. Ndiaye, for his part, emphasized that Senegal firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to strengthen practical cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as infrastructure and intelligent transportation, as well as to jointly promote the development of African-Chinese relations with China. –0–
