BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) — Profits at China's major industrial firms returned to growth in 2025, reversing a three-year decline, with emerging sectors such as equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing becoming the main drivers of growth.

Last year, profits at China's major industrial enterprises grew 0.6 percent year-on-year to nearly 7.4 trillion yuan (approximately $1.06 trillion), according to data released Tuesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Large industrial enterprises are industrial enterprises whose annual income from the main business activities of each enterprise is not less than 20 million yuan. -0-
