MEXICO CITY, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) — Gunmen opened fire on Sunday at an amateur soccer match in central Mexico, killing at least 11 people and wounding 12 others, local authorities said.
The incident occurred at around 5:20 pm local time /11:20 pm GMT on Sunday/ on a football pitch in the town of Loma de Flores in Salamanca, in the central state of Guanajuato.
According to eyewitnesses, several armed men arrived in two pickup trucks, got out of the vehicles, and opened fire indiscriminately on players and spectators. –0–
