The Federal State Information System "Eco-Monitoring" is being created within the framework of the national project "Ecological Well-being".

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and the leadership of relevant agencies discussed the operation and development of the federal state environmental information system. The Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the system's data acquisition status and plans for its development over the next few years.

The Federal State Information System "EcoMonitoring" is being developed as part of the national project "Environmental Well-being." The system is being implemented in stages, with the first phase of work completed in 2025. Currently, 13 data providers are providing information, including ministries and agencies, regions, and local governments. In total, the system will accommodate 366 environmental data sets, divided among 18 monitoring modules covering all environmental components. For example, it contains data on the condition and pollution of air, surface water, water bodies, and soil, radiation levels, the volume of pollutant emissions and discharges, industrial and consumer waste management, and measures to reduce negative impacts. The system will be accessible to government agencies, citizens, and businesses.

"The EcoMonitoring system is a unified digital platform that receives various data related to environmental conditions. It will continue to evolve, including the addition of mathematical modeling and forecasting tools, as well as the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies. This will enable us to objectively assess current processes, manage environmental risks, and conduct comprehensive forecasting," noted Dmitry Patrushev.

The bulk of the data will be downloaded in 2026. Overall, the second phase of the system's comprehensive development will be completed over the next two years. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that, to effectively fine-tune the platform, it is essential to establish high-quality interdepartmental cooperation under the supervision of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources.
