WUHAN, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) — Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), stressed the need to plan and advance the work of the NPC in close alignment with the central tasks of the CPC and the state.
Zhao Leji, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, said these efforts are aimed at providing reliable legal guarantees for the successful launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).
The Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee made this call during a fact-finding tour of Hubei Province, central China, from January 22 to 24. During the tour, he visited local legislative contact points, businesses, and rural households, spoke with legislators and local residents, and inspected the work of regional people's congresses.
He stressed that people's congresses should focus on the key decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, perform their duties in accordance with the law, and act with a high sense of responsibility to better fulfill their official duties and ensure overall development.
Zhao Leji also called for thorough preparations for the upcoming Fourth Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) scheduled for March, including organizing the study of draft laws by deputies, conducting inspection and investigation activities, and supporting deputies in fulfilling their duties. –0–
