Hanoi, January 24 (Xinhua) — The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) concluded here on Friday afternoon, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

The congress brought together 1,686 delegates representing more than 5.6 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam to review the successful work of recent years and determine the country's development priorities for the coming period.

On Thursday afternoon, the congress elected the 14th Central Committee of the CPV, consisting of 200 members, including 180 official members and 20 candidate members.

On Friday, at the first plenary session of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a vote was held on the composition of the Politburo, Secretariat, and Inspection Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

At the final session of the current congress, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam adopted a resolution setting targets for average annual economic growth of at least 10 percent for the period 2026–2030. Innovation, digital transformation, and green growth were also placed at the center of the country's new development model.

In his closing remarks, To Lam, re-elected as General Secretary of the 14th CPV Central Committee, noted that the congress had set tasks to ensure peace and stability in the country, promote sustainable development, and advance Vietnam's goals of becoming an upper-middle-income developing country by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045. –0–
