LANZHOU, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — A Russian Azur Air plane carrying 246 people made an emergency landing at Lanzhou Airport in northwest China's Gansu Province on Friday after issuing a distress signal, the airport administration said.
Flight ZF2998, en route from Phuket, Thailand, to Barnaul, Russia, landed safely at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport at 4:51 PM. There were 239 passengers and seven crew members on board. There were no injuries.
According to the airport, which is coordinating the emergency, the emergency was caused by the failure of the right engine of the Boeing 757-200. -0-
