Beirut, January 22 (Xinhua) — Nineteen people, including eight journalists, were wounded in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported that the strikes targeted several towns and villages, including Kennarit, where intense bombing hit more than seven buildings after Israeli forces issued evacuation warnings earlier in the day.
According to local media, eight journalists were injured while covering the strikes. The Israeli military has not yet commented on these reports.
The Health Ministry's emergency operations center said in a statement that two of the injured were taken to the intensive care unit, three more were taken to the hospital, and the remaining 14 were treated in emergency departments.
Additional airstrikes destroyed buildings in the towns of Jarjua and Kfour, and new attacks were also recorded in the villages of Harayeb and Ansar. –0–
