NANJING, January 22 (Xinhua) — East China's Jiangsu Province's foreign trade volume increased 6 percent year-on-year to 5.95 trillion yuan (approximately 849.8 billion U.S. dollars) last year. The province accounted for 13.1 percent of the country's total foreign trade, according to local customs officials.
In 2025, Jiangsu's electromechanical exports increased by 11.6 percent year-on-year to 2.8 trillion yuan, accounting for 70.7 percent of the province's total exports. Meanwhile, electrical equipment and ship exports totaled 239.96 billion yuan and 142.75 billion yuan, respectively, up 18 percent and 37 percent from the previous year.
There are approximately 43,000 foreign-invested enterprises registered in the province. Their import and export volumes increased by 6.2 percent year-on-year to 2.78 trillion yuan. Their share of the province's foreign trade turnover amounted to 46.7 percent.
In 2025, Jiangsu continued to expand its foreign trade and economic ties. Trade turnover between Jiangsu and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative increased by 11.3 percent year-on-year to 2.98 trillion yuan. -0-
