A new stop for regular river electric transport has been established near the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Preparatory work is currently underway at the pier, followed by testing. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.
"We're preparing to launch the fourth regular river electric transport route. We've already installed the Luzhniki pier and begun the necessary work. There will be four floating piers along the route. These are modern, spacious stops where you can spend time waiting for your electric boat," said Maxim Liksutov.
The floating pier, 16 meters in diameter, can accommodate up to 80 passengers and charge electric boats while docked—a unique development, unlike any other in the world. Like other stops on regular river routes, it is entirely electrically powered and environmentally friendly. For passenger comfort, it features vending machines, media screens displaying schedules, comfortable sofas, and a restroom.
The fourth regular river electric transport route, Luzhniki-Kyivsky, will begin operating this year. It will connect three Moscow districts: Dorogomilovo, Khamovniki, and Ramenki, and will pass by such popular destinations among Muscovites and visitors as the unique Vorobyovy Gory nature reserve and the Luzhniki Olympic Complex.
It will be over four kilometers long, and passengers will save up to 30 minutes on travel compared to public transportation. This will bring the total length of regular river routes in the capital to over 33 kilometers. Current electric boat routes, schedules, and payment methods are available atlink.
