JOHANNESBURG, January 21 (Xinhua) — Five people were shot dead outside a convenience store in the Jeffsville area of Atteridgeville, South Africa's Gauteng province, local police said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the incident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. local time /11:15 a.m. GMT/, and paramedics pronounced all five victims dead at the scene.
According to police, an unknown number of suspects approached the victims, opened fire on them without a word, and fled. The motive for the murder is still unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.
