BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army's (PLA) Southern Area Combat Command's (SAC) drone training flights near China's Dongsha Island are completely justified and legal, Peng Qing'en, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Peng Qing'en made this statement in response to a statement from Taiwan's Defense Ministry describing the actions of a drone from the mainland as "extremely provocative and irresponsible."

Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration ignores the facts and the legal principle that Taiwan is part of China, stubbornly adhering to the separatist stance of "Taiwan independence," Peng Ching-en said.

Moreover, they have repeatedly staged separatist provocations, turning the DPP administration into absolute “troublemakers,” he noted.
