BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Wednesday called for efforts to ensure a smooth start to the 15th Five-Year Plan by making high-quality proposals on governance issues.
Wang Huning, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement at a symposium on the analysis of the macroeconomic situation for 2025.
Wang Huning called for studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the Central Conference on Economic Work, and for a deep understanding of the overall requirements, policy guidelines, and priority tasks in economic work for the current year.
He stressed the importance of aligning thoughts and actions with the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee on economic work.
He said the CPPCC should carefully organize inspection and study tours, pay special attention to important theoretical and practical issues related to socio-economic development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, intensify research in the economic sector, and make high-quality proposals to ensure a good start to the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Eleven members of the CPPCC National Committee and an economic expert delivered speeches at the symposium.
