BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) — China will implement a series of initiatives and actions to further develop and strengthen emerging and future industries during the country's 15th Five-Year Economic and Social Development Plan (2026-2030), Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Zhang Yunming said on Wednesday.
As the deputy minister noted at a press conference, the country will intensify efforts to stimulate new growth factors in emerging sectors, accelerate the application of new production technologies and products in new scenarios, and create state demonstration bases for developing industries.
Regarding future industries, China will promote the implementation of guidelines for promoting innovative development of sectors, carry out numerous promising scientific and technological projects of strategic significance, and support local authorities in developing future industries in accordance with local conditions, Zhang Yunming noted, adding that the investment momentum of state-owned investment funds will be further enhanced.
According to him, during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), a group of emerging industries including new energy vehicles (NEV), photovoltaic industry, as well as low-altitude aircraft, shipbuilding equipment and oceanographic engineering projects, achieved rapid growth, further strengthening the reputation of "Made in China".
The Deputy Minister also noted the record production and sales volumes of NEV vehicles in China, the steady growth of the photovoltaic industry, the increase in the range and number of civil unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as the progress achieved in both quantitative and qualitative terms in the shipbuilding industry in 2025.
