XI'AN, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) — A freight train carrying grain, oil, honey, and other agricultural products from Kazakhstan arrived at the Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industrial Park in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Wednesday morning.

This is the first special freight train in 2026, designed to import festive goods from Kazakhstan into the country in anticipation of the Spring Festival /Chunjie, the traditional Chinese New Year according to the lunar calendar/.

The train, which departed from Aizu's overseas production park in the North Kazakhstan region, entered Aizu's Xi'an plant via a connecting railway line after arriving at Xi'an International Port Station using a door-to-door system.

"The China-Europe train delivered original goods from Kazakhstan to Xi'an, bringing festive goods with a Silk Road flavor to the people of China, allowing us to benefit from the Belt and Road Initiative," said Liu Dongmeng, Party Secretary of Aiju.

Thanks to fast and convenient international railway freight transportation services between China and Europe, trade and economic ties between Xi'an and Central Asia have become closer.

Currently, 18 international China-Europe rail freight routes depart from Xi'an, covering the main sources of supply on the Eurasian continent. -0-
