Tbilisi, January 21 /Xinhua/ — The budget for the popularization of Georgian wine in 2026 has been set at 18 million lari (about 6.7 million US dollars), Chairman of the Georgian National Wine Agency Levan Mekhuzla said on Wednesday.

L. Mekhuzla noted that the strategic markets remain the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.

According to him, Georgia exports about 100 million liters of wine annually and the export price is rising.

"Wine and grape-based alcoholic beverages generate over half a billion dollars in revenue for the country through exports alone. Domestic sales and revenue from wine tourism are also noteworthy. Judging by last year's results, market diversification and export growth to the Chinese market are important," the agency's chairman noted.
