SEOUL, January 21 (Xinhua) — The meeting between the leaders of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and China gives new impetus to improving bilateral relations, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said at a New Year's press conference on Wednesday.
Referring to his state visit to China earlier this month, Lee Zhe-meng said he received a warm welcome, which was confirmed by representatives of both countries.
The South Korean leader expressed confidence that new ways of developing bilateral relations could lead to mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Korea and China.
He also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the economic and diplomatic spheres, the possibility of cooperation in the field of security and strengthening mutual trust, as well as expanding humanitarian exchanges through culture and tourism. –0–
