HANOI, January 20 (Xinhua) — The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) opened at the National Convention Center in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi on Tuesday morning.
A total of 1,586 delegates, representing over 5.6 million CPV members, gathered at the congress. They will discuss and approve various documents, including the political report of the 13th CPV Central Committee and a report examining the theoretical and practical aspects of Vietnam's socialist renewal over the past 40 years.
Vietnamese President Luong Cuong delivered the opening speech at the session, and General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee To Lam presented a report on the documents submitted to the congress. –0–
