The Museum of Moscow will host a tour dedicated to the history of one of the most striking ensembles of industrial architecture in the capital of the early 20th century – State Wine Warehouse No. 1, later known as the Kristall factory.
Participants will learn the history of the complex, built over a period of eighteen months based on designs by leading Moscow architects, and discover how an industrial site was transformed into a modern creative cluster. The tour will showcase Soviet mosaic murals alongside street art, and how former production facilities have become spaces for workshops and galleries. The route includes rectification and distillation buildings, a boiler house, sections of a historic railway line, alcohol storage facilities, and a fountain.
Guide: Inna Krylova, historian, cultural scientist, senior researcher at the Museum of Moscow.
The meeting place is at the entrance to the former Kristall plant (Samokatnaya Street, Building 4).
Duration: 2 hours.
